The CAP TRAFALGAR of 1913


The best and newest ship on the Europe - Brazil - Plata regular service just prior to the WW1, the CAP TRAFALGAR was the flagship of Hamburg Sud. When the war broke out in August 1914, the CAP TRAFALGAR was converted into an armed merchant cruiser at sea and disguised herself as the Cunard liner CARMANIA.
A few days later the German "CARMANIA" was spotted in Trinidad Island by the real Cunarder also just converted as a merchant cruiser and both CARMANIAs fighted each other until the fake CARMANIA was destroyed and sunk by the real CARMANIA...
